Saturday, May 19 2012 at 4:08 am - This is a rare original 1888 color chromolithograph which depicts, in beautiful detail, some of the different clothing styles worn in Poland during the 18th and 19th centuries. Brought in from Hungary, the kontusz was incredibly popular among men. A long garment, it had slashed sleeves and decorative buttons. On particularly warm days the sleeves could be tied behind one's back.
