Thursday, Jan 19 2012 at 2:10 am - This is an excellent original 1939 lithographed map featuring the earliest map of Galena, Illinois on vellum. The first 'official' survey of the old lead mining town of Galena in northwestern, Illinois was authorized in 1836 by the three commissioners appointed by the United States congress.
