1938 Lithograph 1890 Wounded Knee Battle Native American Battlefield Depiction - Hand-Painted Lithograph Review
Saturday, Dec 24 2011 at 2:52 pm - This is a rare large-format original 1938 lithograph by Amos Bad Heart Buffalo, depicting the Battle of Wouned Knee, which took place in November of 1890. The battle was initiated after a young Dakota discharged his rifle, the signal that precipitated the slaughter, and was the outcome of an effort to disarm the "hostiles" under Big Foot.
