1883 Japanese Fabric Design Fukusa Chromolithograph - Original Chromolithograph
Friday, Nov 4 2011 at 6:43 am - This is an original 1883 chromolithograph of a Japanese fabric design for a ceremonial fukusa, a Japanese square cloth made out of silk and used for wrapping special items. This design uses the motif of an open fan. The design is printed throughout with gold ink which, unfortunately, does not show up well in our digital capture, appearing dull brown. Therefore, we have provided another digital image which shows the gold ink better, but does not capture the rich background as well. Please see ( Read more ... )
