1883 Japanese Lacquer Boxes Gold Fan Chromolithograph - Original Chromolithograph
Monday, Nov 7 2011 at 1:19 am - This is an original 1883 chromolithograph of four beautiful Japanese lacquered boxes. Note the box in the top center which is in a lovely fan shape. The large box on the bottom was used by the Japanese aristocracy for holding letters to be delivered. All are printed with gold or silver metallic ink which, unfortunately, does not show up well in our digital capture, appearing dull brown or gray.
