1883 Japanese Ivory Statues Warriors Chromolithograph - Original Chromolithograph
Saturday, Nov 5 2011 at 4:56 am - This is an original 1883 chromolithograph with six examples of Japanese ivory carvings: 1.-3. three carvings representing the three heroes of Shuku --Chohi, Gentoku, and Kuanwa; 4. two warriors fighting, possibly Benkei and Ushiwaka by the bridge of Gojo at Kyoto; 5. this group represents the warrior, Benkei with the great bell of Mi-i-dera; and 6. the 10th century warrior, Tawara Toda Hidesato.
