1884 Japanese Syakfdo Dish Chromolithograph UNUSUAL - Original Chromolithograph
Friday, Nov 11 2011 at 4:56 pm - This is an original 1884 chromolithograph of an example of Japanese metal work called Syakfdo. This unusual dish, made by Koumai, is formed of wrought iron and encrusted with gold, silver, copper and other alloys. The gold and other metallic inks unfortunately, do not show up well in our digital capture. Therefore, we have provided another close-up digital image which provides a truer representation of these inks--please see both images.
