Monday, Nov 14 2011 at 11:31 pm - This is an original 1884 chromolithograph of an example of Japanese metal work. This is a bronze statue, most likely of Bishamon, or Vaisravana, one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Mount Sumeru and supposedly originally belonged to the Buddhist temple, Nishi Honganj, at Kyoto. The original bronze is quite dark which affects the quality of our digital image.
